Behind the walls, the modern home blends a high-performance building envelope with passive solar, zero energy technologies that minimize its ecological impact. Set on a south facing slope, the house takes advantage of natural daylight. A south  facing glazed winter garden absorbs sun to heat the house during the cold winters. The clerestory located high in a central wall near the eaves allows additional daylight into a building interior, and may be used for solar heat gain.

As the sun travels across the sky, its rays hit and reflect through the glass at different angles for an ever-changing spectrum of color and shape.

This smart home is 1,500 sq.ft. | 1 story | 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom | 1 car garage. It includes a winter garden, clerestory, a lush green living roof, a solar-electric generation system, a rain-water collection system and  constructed wetland for treatment of gray water to minimize its environmental impact without compromising on convenience or lavish comforts.
